Ty, angelic. I was afraid of that.
I listened to that link... very interesting. I was glued to it! We'll see what happens. It wouldn't surprise me if it was done to protect Casey.

The trial and acquittal of Casey Anthony has spawned a slew of proposed laws named after her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, as lawmakers and their constituents try to extract some measure of reform out of a case that ended — for many onlookers — with frustration.
The state proposals, which sprung up after an Oklahoma woman started an online petition drive Tuesday, would generally make it a felony for a parent not to report the death or disappearance of his or her child in a certain period of time.
Lawmakers have been drafting the bills at a furious pace since the Florida mother was found not guilty Tuesday in the death of her daughter.
In Maryland, Sen. Nancy Jacobs said she received nearly two dozen emails from constituents in the days following the verdict. She said they asked that she review Maryland law and find a way to criminalize the act of not reporting the death of one’s child.
Jacobs, who is proposing a bill, said her version would make it a felony for a parent, legal guardian or caretaker not to notify law enforcement of the death of a child within a short period of time after the death is discovered.
Back in Florida, several lawmakers filed “Caylee’s Law” on Thursday. Their proposal would require caregivers to promptly report a missing or dead child, and to promptly report to law enforcement the location of a child’s corpse if it is known.
Other proposals are either filed or in the works in North Carolina, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and other states, according to local reports.
Caylee was last seen on June 16, 2008, but her mother didn’t report her missing. The child’s grandmother notified authorities July 15.
The case captivated the country for three years, but Anthony was convicted this week only on counts of lying to investigators. She is expected to be released July 17.

The sad thing about these new proposed laws are the fact they were not in place to begin with! This is not the first child to go missing and not be reported and later found dead. We have so many laws that get put into place after the fact, usually by public outrage, lobbying, and the families using the media to support stiffer sentences or new laws. Why can't our lawmakers decide these things before a crime is committed? Now we have a obviously guilty woman who gave birth to a baby girl (I won't call her a mother) who is going to walk free with a slap on the wrist.

I couldn't agree more that Caylee is guilty as hell!! She lied because she was covering up a CRIME!!
Why the hell would you lie if you weren't covering up something?? If there wasn't a crime to cover up then there's no reason to lie!

This case is gonna sting for awhile, maybe because Caylee was such a beautiful child. Maybe because her own mother murdered her. What sickens me most is that she threw away what a lot of people fight so hard to have, sometimes going a lifetime without. When i was younger I had cancer and it made it impossible for me to father a child. At the time it didn't matter too much, I was young and children were something I DIDN'T WANT. But I grew up. When I got married we really wanted to have a family. After my ex got pregnant several times through in vitro fertilization and several heartbreaking miscarriages we decided to adopt. The greatest moment in my life was the day my little girl came home. She made my life. And everything since that day became worth it, no matter what the struggle became I knew I had to find a way through. I had to do that for her. When I see things like this I remember everything. I remember all the heartache and the pain. She threw away what I fought so desperately to have and it just sickens me. I don't need to tell anyone here what's important, everyone knows that already. Maybe I didn't father my little girl but she is a part of me, the very best part of me. Casey Anthony just threw away the best part of herself and I only hope that one day she feels that. She feels the loss of her beautiful daughter, and feels all the pain that comes with it. That's the closest thing to justice we will ever see for Caylee.

The authorities are concerned about casey anthony's safety upon release from jail on Sunday? Sorry but why would I care about her safety? She deserves the same treatment she gave her daughter. Leave her to the elements and allow any creature that comes upon her to do as they will.

Just to say this note is not about Casey's guilt or innocence. I have no particular view.I would just like to comment on the sheer hypocrisy of of some comments on this site. Ok so I'm paraphrasing, but how many times have we heard the cry of 'found guilty by the jury so she must be'. Darlie Routier being a prime example of this sort of comment.

I don't think that anyone here who believes in Darlie Routier's guilt believes that she's guilty just because the jury said she was. We believe she's guilty because of the evidence. Casey Anthony being a prime example of the same.
