Susan Eubanks - California « Thread Started on Jul 29, 2007, 3:15pm »
On October 26, 1999, Susan Eubanks of San Marcos, California took the lives of her four sons. The boys, ranging in age from 4-14, were all shot in the head. She then turned the gun and shot herself in the stomach. According to her defense lawyers, she shot herself as a result of an attempted suicide. Only one other person was in the home at the time of the killings, Ms. Eubank's 5-year-old nephew, who was found unharmed.
After spending the day drinking with her boyfriend and taking Valium, they began to fight. Once home, she then slashed 2 tires on his car and refused to let him in the home. He called the police and they then escorted him to the home, where he removed some belongings and left. According to her defense team, this was the catalyst of the killings. They claimed that it was then that she lost control of her mind and body.
After warning one of the boys' fathers, as to her diminished mental state (The boyfriend told the father that she "Talked about killing herself and the boys"), the father then called the police department. He asked the Sheriffs Department to check on the children. When the deputies arrived at the home, they heard sobbing, and inside, found the three older boys dead from gunshot wounds to the head. The youngest was not yet dead, so an ambulance was called to the scene.
The four year old boys was still was then rushed by ambulance to the hospital, where he would later die. They then found the 5th child, her nephew unharmed. They also found Susan sobbing and suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was also sent to the hospital. After 5 days, Ms. Eubanks was charged with 4 counts of first-degree murder.
The trail began in August of 1999 and the prosecuting attorneys alleged that Susan Eubanks had killed her sons as a result of rage. The rage was a result of anger felt toward their fathers and the boyfriend, whom had all chosen to leave her. It was claimed that she felt the desire to seek revenge for the failure of the relationships; that she had wanted the fathers to also know the pain of loosing those that had been loved.
The defense lawyers claimed that the murders took place as a result of "blacking" out; that as a result of a diminished state of mind, she was not in control of her actions. It was claimed that after spending the day drinking and using prescription drugs, along with past heartaches and current domestic disturbance, that she then became a "robot" and did what she thought would remove her pain.
During the trial, it was noted that there had been allegations of child abuse and talk of revenge prior to the murders. Prosecutors claimed that she was not suffering from a "black out" because she had to load her weapon twice before she had finished; thus giving her ample time to realize what she was doing and stop. It was also noted that while she had killed her sons "execution style", she had only shot herself in the stomach to. It was noted that she surely would know how to kill herself, after murdering 4 others. Prosecuting attorneys believed that she had shot herself to increase her chances of a lesser charge, or possibly to frame someone else for the murders.
In August of 1999, after just 2 hours of deliberation, the jury found her guilty on all four counts of first-degree murder. After 2 days, they returned with the sentence of death. The judge agreed with the sentence in October of 1999 and she was then transferred to the Central California's Women's Facility, where she now remains on death row.

Can you believe Susan Eubanks has a personals ad? check out Cowtown.com. She and all child killers are so repulsive. I have 2 children. I just can't imagine. It may sound cruel but I think the death penalty methods used are way to gentle. They should do it old school. Feed them to the hungry lions.

Susan you took away four boys who meant so much to me and my family. Your profile tries to make it seem like you grew up with abuse and later in life you still had mental and physical abuse. GOD gives us all free will......you chose to load a gun and muder your children. I can remember the boys coming into my room with their Blond toe heads and wanting to play. We often wonder what life would be like if the boys were still here. Brandon would be so handsome, they all would be. I can sit her and curse at you and talk down to you, but what good would it do. The damage is done. Even if you were to be excuted today or in a few months that doesn't bring back the boys and the lives they should have had. No mother should ever take the lives of her children, animals take better care of their young. I often think what went through those poor babies minds when they realized their last moments were taken by the hands of their mother. Susan you could have called my Mom and Dad they would have taken the boys in a heartbeat. You had choices. I can't and won't accept that you were abused and that you did this all in a so called "Black out " moment. selfish you were and will remain. The idea that you get up each day and breathe the air is so selfish. You may one day ask the LORD for forgiveness.......he is higher and mightier than me .....I however cannot forgive you. I know it's not right but I can't. I have great plessure in knowing that you will someday be in HELL, where you will recieve your ultimate punishment. I thank GOD for all the moments we were able to share with the boys. So let's not focus anymore on SUSAN EUBANKS....focus on the memories the boys left....and the joy and laughter they brought.

I do support the death penalty in cases like this. Those children were totally innocent and could have had good lives if Susan had just disappeared, deserted them. Instead she decided to make others pay for her unhappiness. She did a good job of it. Her own children dead, their fathers forever grieving. Other family members mourning and carrying the burden of wondering "What if..." I do so wonder about the cousin she let live. How long will he have to suffer. Will he ever be able to put this in perspective? Admit I feel no sympathy for this woman. She chose the life she lived, the people around her, the drugs, her actions. She was mizused, damaged, mad. Sorry about that. But when she decided to get even by denying her children a chance to live THEIR lives all sympathy went away. She writes online that she is an optimistic looking for friends and penpals. Her kids are dead and buried. I think it is wrong that she gets to see sunlight, pick what she will wear today, how she will wear her hair. Justice has yet to be served.

This women deserves everything she gets, the though of such crime toward her own children is insane. I have protected this country for over 22 yrs in support of the freedom. I am disguised with any parent who kills their own children who are unable to protect themselves. You should die a vicious death just like your children did, putting trust in you just to have you ruin it. what is wrong with you. there is no reason for this act. in my eyes you are a coward not worthy of a legal death by injection, you should die with an suffering act that is slow to kill you in order to give you time to think about what you did. that is all i have to say and to think i protected your rights so you could do this to your children I am ashame of you, may you burn in hell for your actions forever.

Hitler had the right idea, wrong race, only 90 per cent of you Irish are good, your brother Tom validates this claim brought forth. Bunch of lying good for nothing scum who is now in a position of power, and is using that power to prevent the legal system. The only real man from Ireland is the Warden at Huntsville. The Bible says a life for a life, a hand for a hand, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. This is biblical justice. But justice should be tempered with mercy. The Biblical injunctions were often interpreted to mean the equivalent of a life for a life, a hand for a hand, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. It became clear that because one person lost a hand, it did not do any good to anyone for another person to lose his hand. It would be better for the criminal to recompense the victim.
One reason against the death penalty is that taking an additional life does not resolve the problem. Why should society behave like its worst elements? The point of civilization is to rise above the worst in us.
