ATLANTA -- Jurors in DeKalb County have convicted 31-year-old Clayton Jerrod Ellington of murder in the hammer-slayings of his wife and twin 2-year-old sons.
Ellington heard the guilty verdict Saturday. He shook his head and covered his face with his hands. The jury on Monday will deliberate in the penalty phase of the trial and decide if Ellington should be sentenced to death.
Ellington was convicted of murdering 31-year-old Berna Ellington and the couple's sons, Christian and Cameron, at the family home near Lithonia on May 17, 2006.
Ellington called police to the home, first claiming he had found all three bodies. He later changed his story, claiming his wife killed the boys and he then killed her.
Testimony picks up in the sentencing phase Monday. If sentenced to death, Ellington would be the first person sentenced to death in DeKalb County in 19 years.

ATLANTA (MyFOX Atlanta) -- Jurors in DeKalb County have sentenced 31-year-old Clayton Jerrod Ellington to death after convicting him of murder in the hammer-slayings of his wife and twin 2-year-old sons.
Prosecutors said Ellington had wanted out of the marriage because of a new girlfriend.
Investigator said Ellington called police to the home, first claiming he had found all three bodies. He later changed his story, claiming his wife killed the boys and he then killed her.
Ellington was convicted on Saturday of murdering 31-year-old Berna Ellington and the couple's sons, Christian and Cameron, at the family home near Lithonia on May 17, 2006. The same jury sentenced him to death on Tuesday.
The man convicted of brutally murdering his wife and twin sons with a hammer has been sentenced for his crime. However, before 31-year-old Clayton Ellington learned his fate, he was attacked by one of the victim's cousins.
Ellington was sentenced to death on Wednesday for the murder of his wife and twin sons in May of 2006.
However, everyone was surprised when, during the sentencing announcement, a cousin of one of the victims got up and attacked Ellington.
Police rushed the man and pulled him off of Ellington. Witnesses said Ellington made no comment, but did look surprised.
Police said the man didn’t say anything or make any announcements before he stood up and attacked Ellington. After the courtroom was secure, police escorted the man out of the room.
In a press conference after the sentencing, the victim’s father, Bernard Judge, gave an apology to the victim’s family, to the judge and thanked the judge and jury for their decision.
Berna Ellington was a water quality scientist for the Department of Natural Resources.

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - A man attacked 31-year-old Clayton Jerrod Ellington before a judge pronounced the death sentence for him in the hammer-slayings of his wife and twin 2-year-old sons.
The hearing Wednesday in DeKalb County Superior Court was delayed about 45 minutes after the man rushed the defense table and punched Ellington in the courtroom. Deputies dragged away the man, who was not immediately identified, and the courtroom was cleared.
Superior Court Judge Anne Workman warned spectators that any other disruptions would be "dealt with severely."
She scheduled the execution for the week of Dec. 2. Georgia law requires an automatic appeal.
Jurors sentenced Ellington to death Tuesday after earlier convicting him of murder in the deaths of 31-year-old Berna and the couple's sons, Cameron and Christian, on May 17, 2006, at the family home near Lithonia.

seriously: Regarding your comment that Charles Ng comes from a "wealthy family", a "GOOD FAMILY"; since when does being wealthy equate to good? They are two entirely different things; and, frankly, some of the worst criminals are in fact wealthy. Con't in next post.

seriously: Consider the Clinton's: Bill has oral "isn't sex" in the White House, now virtually every kinder. knows what oral sex is. Then there's Hillary first deriding the women who came forward about her husband; then she deleting files to hide her activities.

seriously: Oh, and let's not forget Bill Clinton "didn't inhale" when he smoked pot...yeah, right! At a time when America's young men are being drafted for the Vietnam war, Bill & Hillary choose to take a trip to Russia and conveniently miss the draft all together.

seriously: Remember Hillary is for women & children; yet she only had one child and she doesn't even bake cookies...oh my! She defames her opponents with accusations of womanizing hoping we forget about her husband IN THE OVAL OFFICE! Not happening honey!

seriously: Then there's the BIG BANK BAIL-OUT; the banker's show up in Washington D.C. to get WELFARE (OUR tax dollars) by flying there in a LEAR JET...really! Even Obama was shocked at that move! But they're GOOD because they're WEALTHY? I think not!

seriously: I think Obama should have made them liquidate all their assets both business AND PERSONAL so they could climb over their own pile of s***; instead of expecting the American tax payers to do it.

seriously: Wake up people! Don't you realize that WE THE PEOPLE don't need the rich, THEY NEED US...to do the work that makes them richer so they don't have to clean their own toilets; and all we get is industrialized meats and crops, GMO's, antibiotic resistance.

seriously: That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Best way to topple the rich...eliminate money and go back to the barter system; let the rich wipe their own bums and clean their own toilets...for a change! No more "Groom of the stool" for them.
