dfolta said:Debs, I understand you have a big stake in the DP issue, and I will be the first to say" There is a lot of reasonable doubt" in your husbands case. For crimes of passion, there has not been anyone on DR for a single crime, usually true crimes of passion do not hide what they did, there are mitigating factors and they show remorse. I do not believe in giving a person who murdered once already a chance to do it again. period!!! If you plan to take someones life and then follow through with it, WHY should we ever allow that type of animal ( and I do mean animal) to hurt someone again. All most all people on death row, have been in trouble before, and most have been through the prison system at least once. as far as addicts are concerned, unless you are forced to be an addict, under threat, than you know you are responsible for what you do. I had a "Relay tough time" in my life, and dealt with my own demons, never did I commit a property crime or crime of violence against someone. The quote Multiple baby rapers and serial killers, usually take plea deals for LWOP, and most people on DR where offered some sort of deal, they decided to roll the dice. Now for the truly innocent, I do feel for. Like I said earlier, there is enough reasonable doubt in you husbands case, he might be Innocent. I would like to ask the antis, would you feel safe under all circumstances with the people on DR around your family or even as a neighbor?
the irrefutable fact is that, being a drug addict is YOUR choice, and yours alone. the irrefutable fact is that, your lousy childhood is NOT an excuse to become a criminal. the irrefutable fact is that there is NO societal cause of crime whatsoever. the one and ONLY cause of crime, particularly murder, is the inherent worthlessness of the individual.
for those who are so deluded that they think that there is any societal causation, they have to conclusively prove that EVERYONE, or even a majority, of those in the same situation become criminals. until they can, the notion is an abject lie.
