INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - A suburban Kansas City man who videotaped the death of a woman he suffocated during sex has been sentenced to death.
Richard Davis was sentenced Friday for killing 41-year-old Marsha Spicer in May 2006. A jury convicted the 44-year-old Davis of first-degree murder in July.
Police said Davis and Dena Riley, 42, were accused of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, kidnapping, forcible rape and two counts of forcible sodomy in the death of Spicer. Her naked body was found in a shallow grave near Bates City, east of Kansas City.
Davis received life sentences on more than 20 other charges.
He was also previously found guilty in the sexual attack of a 36-year-old woman in April 2006 and was charged with capital murder in her death.
Davis was on parole after spending nearly 18 years in prison for a 1987 rape and sodomy conviction. Riley has previously been charged with misdemeanors, but no felonies.

This needs to go in a file to throw at those people who say sexual perverts can be rehabed. Why the hell was this guy ever paroled in the first place. 18 years in prison was not enough to "deterr" him from his passion for rape. But this time he added the thrill of murdering to his fantasies. He probably came up with that while he sat in prison for 18 years!
Sadly enough this evil thing will have appeals and will sit around for many years before meeting his end.
"Executing a murderer is the only way to adequately express our horror at the taking of an innocent life. Nothing else suffices. To equate the lives of killers with those of victims is the worst kind of moral equivalency. If capital punishment is state murder, then imprisonment is state kidnapping and restitution is state theft." Don Feder
Woman Pleads Guilty to Videotaped Sex Slaying in Exchange for Life in Prison
Monday, December 22, 2008
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A suburban Kansas City woman pleaded guilty Monday to killing a woman whose sexual torture and suffocation were videotaped.
In a deal with prosecutors that allowed her to avoid the death penalty, Dena Riley, 42, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the May 2006 death of Marsha Spicer, who was suffocated during sex at an Independence apartment that Riley shared with her boyfriend.
Riley also pleaded guilty to kidnapping, sodomy and sex abuse in the videotaped attack on Spicer, 41, of Independence, and to kidnapping, sodomy, sex abuse and assault in a separate videotaped attack on Michelle Huff-Ricci, 36, of Kansas City. Riley sobbed throughout the hearing as she answered each question from the judge, prosecutor and defense attorney with a simple "yes" or "no."
Huff-Ricci's remains were found in nearby Clay County, where Riley and her boyfriend, Richard Davis, are charged with capital murder.
As part of the deal, Riley was sentenced to life without parole for the murder charge and to eight additional life sentences and 239 years in prison for 25 other counts. She also agreed to plead guilty in Kansas on a federal charge of kidnapping a 5-year-old girl related to Davis after fleeing the Kansas City area in May 2006. Court documents said the girl had injuries consistent with sexual abuse.
Earlier this year, Davis was convicted and sentenced to death for Spicer's slaying. He also is charged in the federal case.
During Davis' weeklong trial in July, the key evidence was videotapes that prosecutors say Davis and Riley made to fulfill Davis' violent sexual fantasies. Jurors watched graphic DVD recordings taken from those tapes, one of which showed Spicer's death.
Huff-Ricci's death came to light after Davis and Riley were captured in southwest Missouri following a five-day manhunt and brought back to the Kansas City area, where they were charged in Spicer's death. Police have said both defendants led investigators to Huff-Ricci's remains near the Kansas City suburb of Liberty. Prosecutors believe Huff-Ricci was sexually assaulted at the couple's apartment in April 2006, then driven to Clay County and strangled there.
Why in the world did the woman get a deal? I mean I know she will never be free again...but I still don´t see what makes her any better than him and if you go for death for one I guess the other one should get death as well?
seriously: I think Obama should have made them liquidate all their assets both business AND PERSONAL so they could climb over their own pile of s***; instead of expecting the American tax payers to do it.
