You accuse antis of being hypocrites, yet it is you who comes across that way with this post. You don't hold the same standards for you (and those you love) as you do for others. You perjured yourself to prevent someone who is dangerous from being imprisoned properly.
As for your sis-in-law, what was her conviction? Kidnapping? And, you think life is a harsh sentence? I wonder... if it was your child she was involved in kidnapping whether you'd feel differently ~ perhaps kill the culprits on sight, and expect us to give you a medal.
nope. if they would have charged her with spousal abuse, which is what she ended up with, i would not have done anything at all. instead, they charged her with adw and a host of enhancements trying to get her the 25 to life. she was not a danger to anyone but me, and most of the time she wasn't a danger to me. if she hadn't been stupid enough to call her ex mother in law and tell her that she had stabbed me, no one except ourselves would have even known about it.
I maintain that if someone is a danger to those they supposedly love, they're a danger to (at least) those they have something against. I think you're rationalizing ~ making excuses. If she does harm another, I would think that having lied to keep her out of prison, you'd be at least partially responsible.
my sister in law was convicted of kidnapping during the commission of a carjacking. like i said, it is a separate statute than kidnapping and carjacking. she didn't want to hurt anyone. even though she is responsible for her own actions, it was her asssociation with a punk that had only been out of prison for four months that caused the problem. shs would never have done it on her own. ten years would have been plenty for what she actually did. she's been there for fifteen now.
Seems like another attempt to excuse the behaviour of someone less than savory. Had the child been harmed, she could well have been charged with first degree murder (murder during the course of a carjacking/kidnapping). This is the kind of person ~ who 'doesn't plan on hurting anyone' I see pros wanting killed.
As things stand, it seems you're all gung-ho kill em all pro, except when it's someone you'd prefer to make excuses for, namely people you care about... and then you don't even want those you care for incarcerated properly and in accordance with the law. In fact, you'll break the law to protect them from the big bad gov'ment.
At least I'm evenhanded. I don't want any of them executed (in part) because I wouldn't want someone I love executed.
